A thin protective coat on top of the lacquer
GrainGuard works on the surface of the floor, not by soaking in. It forms a thin, even layer on top of the lacquer that takes the everyday wear, evens out the sheen and reduces the appearance of fine scuffs and traffic marks, without changing the colour or character of the timber.

For lacquered floors only
It is not for oiled or hardwax-oiled floors, raw or unfinished timber, or floors that need sanding or recoating. If you are not sure which finish you have, test an out-of-the-way patch first, or ask us before you start.
How to apply it, and how often
- Clean the floor first and let it dry.
- Apply a thin, even coat. It is ready to use, straight from the bottle.

Do
- Use it only when the floor needs it, up to four times a year.
- Lay it with a flat applicator pad, so the coat goes on even.
Don't
- Use it as a routine cleaner. It is a periodic refresh, not a cleaner or an oil.
- Over-apply, or use it too often. Either can lead to build-up.
