Bona Wood Floor Refresher is for varnished and lacquered floors that are looking scratched or dull. Bona describes it as reviving the surface and leaving a fresh, high-gloss finish, with a protective layer against everyday wear. This kit pairs it with the microfibre pad Bona names for applying it.
Sheen is the reason to think about which kit you are buying. We hold three coating kits for lacquered floors and they all suit the same floor. Two of them are matt. This is the one that finishes high gloss, so the choice is about the look you are after rather than about the finish you have.

What is in the kit
- 1x Bona Wood Floor Refresher, 1 litre - a ready-to-use treatment for varnished and lacquered timber. Bona describes it as reviving a scratched or dull surface to a fresh, high-gloss finish with a protective layer against everyday wear, polyurethane-based and without waxes. Coverage about 50 square metres per litre.
- 1x Bona Microfibre Applicator Pad - the pad Bona names for applying Refresher. Soft, lambswool-style microfibre, 140mm by 250mm, attaches to the Bona mop, and Bona states it is machine washable up to 300 times.
A coating this glossy shows every ridge, so how evenly it goes down matters more here than on a matt product. That is what the pad is for, and it is why the two are sold together rather than left to whatever pad is on the mop.

If your floor is matt and you want it to stay that way, the same job in a matt finish is the Bona Polish kit or the GrainGuard kit.
High gloss is not reversible in an afternoon
It leaves a high-gloss finish, so it is the wrong product for a floor you want to stay matt, and it is not for oiled or waxed floors. Test an out-of-the-way patch and let it dry before you commit the whole room, so you are judging the sheen on your own floor rather than on a photograph.
The floor has to be clean and dry before the coat goes on. That is a separate step with a separate product, and it is not in this kit.
