Bona Wood Floor Polish is a waterborne maintenance coating for lacquered and sealed (varnished) timber floors. Bona describes it as reinforced with polyurethane, so the fresh coat takes the daily traffic instead of your floor's own finish.

It fills the fine scratches that dull a floor
Micro-scratches in the lacquer scatter the light and read as a tired, worn patch. The polish flows into them, levels the surface and cures to a fresh matt layer on top.

Not for oiled or waxed floors
On an oiled or waxed floor the surface is different, so the coating will not bond the same way. If you are not certain which finish you have, test an out-of-the-way patch and let it dry before doing the whole floor, or ask us first.
How to apply it, and how often
- Clean the floor first. Vacuum or sweep, then clean the whole floor with a wood floor cleaner and let it dry, so no dirt is trapped in the coating.
- Shake the bottle thoroughly.
- Apply a thin, even coat with a Bona Microfibre Applicator Pad, working with the direction of the grain.
- Let it dry a minimum of one hour before resuming light use of the floor.
- A second coat can be applied two hours after the first, if needed.
Application steps follow Bona's official Care Program instructions for lacquered wood flooring (bona.com). Timings are Bona's, for a normal room temperature. Full guidance is on the product's technical data sheet.
Do
- Re-apply every 2 to 6 months, depending on how much traffic the floor gets.
- Keep furniture and rugs off until the next day.
Don't
- Lay it on thick. Thin, even coats only.
- Walk on it before it is dry, or recoat sooner than two hours.
