Ciranova Unicare X-Matt is a maintenance and protection product for matt-finished lacquered timber floors, made for floors finished with water-based lacquers. Use it after installation, or as part of your regular care routine. Ciranova describes it as quick-drying, easy to apply, and as making ongoing cleaning easier.

An ultra-thin protective layer on a matt floor
Ciranova describes Unicare X-Matt as forming an ultra-thin, invisible layer on top of a matt lacquer, adding protection against wear and stains and helping conceal fine micro-scratches, without adding gloss or changing the feel of the floor.

Match it to the sheen you already have
A protective layer that is wrong for the sheen shows up the moment the light hits the floor, and it cannot be taken off with a mop. If you are not sure what finish you have, test an out-of-the-way patch and let it dry before doing the room.
How to apply it, and what to avoid
- Clean the floor first with a cleaner made for lacquered floors, and let it dry.
- Apply an ultra-thin layer with a microfibre cloth or mop, working evenly across the floor.
- Let it dry before using the floor.
Ciranova describes applying it after cleaning, in an ultra-thin layer with a microfibre cloth or mop.
Do
- Put the first coat on soon after installation, not once the floor is already worn.
- Strip the old layers with a hard floor cleaner before you build up another one.
Don't
- Over-apply. An ultra-thin layer is enough.
- Apply over a dirty or damp floor.
