A water-based cleaner for the regular maintenance of varnished and lacquered timber floors, including parquet. Ciranova describes it as degreasing and cleaning the wood while leaving the finish intact. Mix it with water and mop along the grain, no rinsing needed.

The weekly clean for a varnished floor
Ciranova Hard Floor Fresh is a water-based cleaner for the regular maintenance of varnished and lacquered timber floors, including parquet. A harsh cleaner can leave a film or dull the surface, and Ciranova describes this one as degreasing and cleaning the wood while keeping the floor's finish intact. It is a good match for floors finished with Ciranova's own waterborne coatings, such as Fortico, Ecofix and Oculto.

Match it to your floor, and keep the mop wrung
If your floor is oiled or waxed, it takes a different product, so check the finish first, and test an out-of-the-way patch if the floor is new to you.
How to mix it, and what to avoid
- Sweep or vacuum first to lift loose grit.
- Mix 10 caps of Hard Floor Fresh with every 10 litres of lukewarm water.
- Clean along the grain with a well-wrung mop or microfibre cloth, rinsing and wringing the mop as you go.
- Let the floor dry without rinsing.

Do
- Use it for the weekly clean, not just when the floor looks dirty.
- Once it is clean, a matt-lacquered floor can take a protective coat on top.
Don't
- Use it neat. It is a concentrate.
- Leave standing water on the timber. Wring the mop well.
