Floor Scrubber Hire NZ — FloorBoy XL-300 Oiling & Buffing Machine (Newmarket, Auckland Pick-Up)
The FloorBoy XL-300, $120 a day, Newmarket pick-up.
$120.00 per day
A compact single-disc floor machine for hire, $120 a day from our Newmarket showroom in Auckland. The Floorservice FloorBoy XL-300 cleans, scrubs, buffs and polishes hard floors, and Floorservice lists applying maintenance oil to oiled floors among the machine’s stated uses. Pick-up only, we do not courier it. Tell us the days you want and we will put it aside for you.
"Floor scrubber hire" covers two very different machines. One is an industrial scrubber-drier with a water tank and a squeegee, built for warehouse concrete. The other is a compact single-disc machine built for the floors people live on. This is the second kind.
The Floorservice FloorBoy XL-300 is an eccentric single-disc machine. The manufacturer describes it as mainly suited to domestic use: cleaning and maintaining wooden floors, and applying maintenance oil to oiled floors. At 13.9 kg it lifts into a car boot and steers with one hand.
With a white pad it buffs and polishes timber, laminate and hybrid floors, the same job a floor polisher or floor buffer hire would do. With the manufacturer's scrubbing brush accessory it scrubs stone, tile and vinyl. As useful on a tired kitchen as on an annual re-oil.
Technical figures as published in the manufacturer's data sheet, linked below.
An oiled timber floor is protected by oil in the wood rather than a coat on the surface, and every year or so the walked-on areas dry out and need topping up. By hand that is done with a cloth or a hand applicator, a section at a time. The FloorBoy works the oil in under a 300mm disc instead, and applying maintenance oil to oiled floors is one of the uses Floorservice publishes for the machine.
It is not a scrubber-drier. There is no tank and no squeegee, so it will not scrub and vacuum a large commercial floor in one pass.
It is not a sander. It will not take a floor back to bare timber or strip a lacquer. It cleans, scrubs, buffs and oils.
Collection and return are from our Newmarket showroom, 2 Roxburgh Street, Auckland. Allow one to two white pads for the job.
